I was really excited when I heard about the new
Wallace and Gromit film. I loved the shorts, and really
looked forward to seeing a feature length film. When I heard
there were going to be new figures, I was ecstatic.
Then I heard McFarlane was the company that was making them and I
was skeptical. Their figures look great. However, they
only normally look great in one position.
In trying to keep the clay aspects of the figures, McF gave them
"bendy" type arms and legs. The way they integrated the look
is flawless. But, the bendy part is less than functional.
Whenever I have tried to pose one of these, they spring back to
the way they came out of the package.
Enough of the bad though. This is Gromit
in his Anti-Pesto uniform. There is no doubt who this is and
I love the way he looks. He comes with a base, which
doesn't really need to stand. There is also a sack
containing a rabbit. Much to my surprise, the rabbit was
fully sculpted and removable. (My wife noted, however, his
tail should be white, not the gray body color.)
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this figure. If the
bendy feature had been executed just a little better, it would
have been perfect. If you're a Wallace and Gromit fan
don't miss out on this one.
As a side note, if McF would do a collector's
type pack of say, 20 of these rabbits in repaint colors, I would
have to join just to get it.
